“My mother would say, ‘Kamala, you may be the first to do many things, but make sure you are not the last.’

Kamala Harris failed her first bar exam to become a lawyer. But that didn’t stop this daughter of immigrant parents from trying again – and succeeding. Since then, Kamala Harris has been a vocal champion of progressive reforms and women’s rights, and has broken lots of glass ceilings while doing it – including being the first African-American and Indian woman to become Vice President of the USA. Kamala Harris always fights for what she believes in, even when the odds are against her.
